Marilyn always says there is nothing more valuable than product knowledge. This is very true. If you don’t understand what you are selling then how can you help your customers make the right decision about purchasing? So we decided to install one of our limo kits and we sure did get an education with this build!
It all started about two weeks before the PGA trade show in Orlando. We had just finalized the products we would be taking to the show and installed the entire list of new products on our show carts when Stan decided to change things up. Like Darwin stated, if you don’t adapt you won’t survive. We sure did have to adapt fast! We received the cart 1 week before it was to be picked up and shipped out to be on display at the show.
Stan purchased a 2011 Club Car Precedent and as soon as it was delivered we began tearing it down. The first day we spent about 45 minutes taking it down to the frame. The instructions that are included with this kit are very detailed with great illustrations. This cart was filthy, though, someone sure had fun driving it off the course. So the second day we spent a large portion of the morning just pressure washing and cleaning it up. What took us a long time was replacing the worn parts such as installing a front end repair kit and replacing the rear leaf springs to heavy duty since we planned to install a rear seat. Surprisingly, cutting and stretching the cart was the quickest and easiest part of the entire build, only taking about 1 hour after everything was measured and marked.
We did set up a time-lapse video during the whole project and if you have time you should really check it out. Of course, since this is a show cart we did dress it up with new accessories such as a new candy apple red body along with some new Specter rims and low profile tires to mention a few. This kit is a great package and the support frames are very sturdy. If you are in need of a six-passenger cart this may be a great option for you.
